We have some exciting news this week in a short newsletter so please read carefully!

Dragon Empires Beta 0.5 starting early February!
Current plans are that in around two weeks we will start Beta0.5 where we will be testing new server code. Throughout this phase 3,200 testers will be invited to join the beta program. We have introduced this phase to ensure that, going forward, we have as stable a code base and beta as possible. You can't build a house without good foundations after all! Once the Beta0.5 code has proven itself we will quickly start adding in the features needed in Beta1 and future beta phases.

Beta0.5 will be a relatively short test before we start the much more playable Beta1 test. Beta0.5 will strictly be a server stress test and so other than exploring the world there will be little for players to do, so don't worry too much if you miss out. We will individually mail selected testers closer to the time with instructions on how to join and download the client.

Testers are being selected based on a variety of equipment and other specific considerations of the operations team. If you aren't selected this time you will still have many chances to be selected before Dragon Empires is released.

We expect Beta0.5 to last four to six weeks and once complete, Beta1, featuring monsters, quests, combat and advancement, will begin!

Developer news
We are pleased to announce that next month Sam (aka 'Satine') will be assisting the Development team for a couple of months. Sam's extensive knowledge of the game from her current role in Codemasters will be a real asset to our Beta testing. Current testers know Sam from the Beta message boards and chat where she has been active in helping with problems and organising tests. We look forward to her involvement in the development of Dragon Empires.

Dragon Empires Beta 0.5 startet Anfang Februar
